Privacy and Cookies Policy
This page explains what data OverLevelGame keeps, what it is used for and how you can ask for it to be deleted. The game follows the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018).
Who takes care of your data
OverLevelGame is an independent game, maintained by the game developer (an individual, in Brazil). For anything about your data, talk to us on the OverLevel Discord.
What data we keep
- Without an account: progress stays only in your browser (local storage). None of it is sent to a server.
- With an account: email, nickname, game progress (profile and the 3 hero slots), leaderboard marks (nickname, hero, class, species, wave, biggest hit, play time, level and ascensions) and the date you accepted the data notice. The password is kept by the login service in a protected way, and the game has no access to it.
- Password change request: if you use "I forgot my password", we send a reset link to the account email. If you ask for manual help, we keep the email and, if you choose to provide it, your Discord nickname, only to create the temporary password and send it to the account email. The request is deleted after it is handled.
- Technical data: when you use the site, the services that keep it online receive data such as the IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and protect against abuse.
What we use it for
- Saving your progress and letting you continue in another browser or device.
- Showing the leaderboard. The nickname and the leaderboard marks are visible to all players.
- Protecting the login against bots and the leaderboard against cheating.
The legal basis is your consent, given in the notice shown the first time you play with an account. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking for your account to be deleted.
Where the data is stored and who processes it
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Some services process data on our behalf, only so the game works or to show ads on the official site:
- Supabase: database and account login. The servers may be outside Brazil.
- Brevo: sends account confirmation and password reset emails (it only receives the destination email and the message content).
- Google AdSense: shows non-personalized ads on the official site (overlevelgame.com), to help keep the game free. They do not use your history or interests, but Google may use technical cookies or identifiers to limit how often an ad appears and to prevent fraud. The itch.io, CrazyGames and Poki versions do not have these ads. Details: how Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: anti-bot check on the login, sign-up and password reset screens.
- Site hosting (Cloudflare), Google Fonts (fonts) and jsDelivr (login library): they receive technical data when the site loads.
Cookies and local storage
The game uses the browser local storage (localStorage), which works like cookies. It keeps progress, settings, the login session and whether you have already seen this notice. All of this is needed for the game to work.
- We do not use personalized ads or audience analytics tools. The Google AdSense ads on the official site are non-personalized, but they may use technical Google cookies (see above).
- The Cloudflare anti-bot check may use its own technical cookies on the login and sign-up screens.
- You can delete this data in your browser settings ("clear site data"). Warning: without an account, this deletes your progress.
Your rights
Under the LGPD, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and withdraw your consent. Ask on the OverLevel Discord, giving the account email. We reply within 15 days. When we delete the account, we remove the email, the profile, the heroes saved in the cloud and your leaderboard marks.
Children and teenagers
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Anyone under 18 needs permission from a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
